Ross Holcombe teaches private trombone and euphonium students of all levels in the Tampa Bay area and across Florida. Whether you're a student, professional, or an amateur adult, Ross will help you get closer to achieving your musical goals.

Private lessons for college students focus on the future playing and professional ambitions of the student. Most lessons begin with a discussion of goal-setting. Based on those goals the lessons may focus on:

• Reconnecting to the reasons for wanting to play music

• Career goals

• Audition and performance success

• Orchestral excerpts

• Solo repertoire and etudes

• Developing a daily routine

• Graduate program auditions

Private lessons for middle and high school students are tailored to the individual goals of the student and may focus on such topics as:

• Developing a love of music

• Technique in service of expression

• All-State auditions and Solo and Ensemble

• College music admissions or scholarship auditions

• Solo repertoire and etudes

• Music theory

• Practice and study techniques

• Finding the enjoyment and ease of playing

Ross's students have been accepted to top university and conservatory graduate and undergraduate programs across the country, including:

• New England Conservatory

• The Colburn School

• The Juilliard School

• Eastman School of Music

• Manhattan School of Music

• Florida State University

• University of South Florida

• University of Central Florida

• Vanderbilt University

• DePaul University

In addition, Ross's students are frequently accepted as members of the All-State Band and Orchestra, and are encouraged to participate in youth orchestra, band festivals, and Solo and Ensemble.
